- The Ridge Park & Playground
Locals are really spoilt for choice with the Ridge Park and Playground just an 8 minute drive (or 15 minute cycle) from our Nicheliving development in Byford. Most of the playground focuses on nature, with plenty of log steps to climb up, along with two short stone slides, a standalone birds’ nest swing and the best feature being the flying fox. Don’t forget to pack a lunch as the Ridge has undercover picnic area facilities with a public barbeque, water fountain and even a tap for your dog! Plan your park day here.

- Serpentine National Park
Just a short 20-minute drive from Nicheliving Byford, you will find Serpentine National Park, the best kept secret so close to home! The Serpentine Falls waterfall is a central feature of the surrounding Serpentine National Park and lies within an incised valley at the base of the Darling Scarp, on the western edge of the Park. Nestled in the Serpentine National Park, Serpentine Falls gives you access to some stunning walking trails as well as a family friendly picnic area with picnic tables, barbeques and toilets. - King Road Brewery
King Road Brewery are famous for their handcrafted beers and cider and is a must do if you’re a local or passing by. Known for their great venue, child friendly facilities and tasty, value for money food and beverages. King Road Brewery captures the down south atmosphere but is right here in your backyard, featuring a large restaurant and outdoor area. We highly recommending getting there early on a weekend and settling in for the day, with an adventure playground for the kids you can let them run wild while you sit back, relax and enjoy the atmosphere. - Byford walking trail
Dust off those hiking shoes and head to the Byford walking trail for unbeatable views of Byford Hills. Also known as the Macora Trail, this 2.7-kilometre loop is ideal for those with a moderate level of fitness (no bushwalking experience is required). The trail starts at Macora Falls, returning via Walters Road, Burrell Street, Stevenson Place and Bradshaw Road. We recommend giving yourself an hour to complete the trail, plus it’s dog friendly so you can bring along your furry friends. Don’t forget to pack a water bottle and plan your hike before you go.
